Teaching

Junah serves as an adjunct professor of viola at the CUNY Graduate Center and has served as a faculty member at the Raphael Chamber Music Workshop and The Kutztown University Summer Chamber Music Festival. He specializes in coaching young professional violists in New York City and abroad, preparing pre-professional violists for pre-college and college auditions, and violinists transitioning to viola.

Junah's teaching philosophy is rooted in creative unblocking and functional procedures which release a player’s natural virtuosity and artistry. He shares a comprehensive knowledge of approaches to technique, grounding artistic performance in a solid foundation.

Since the start of the pandemic lockdown, Junah has enjoyed sharing his home teaching studio with his wife, violinist Ragga Petursdottir.

Junah and Ragga are currently accepting new online students.
